After you hit the button, you’ll be taken to a secure payment page and asked to enter your payment details. After successful payment, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your lottery ticket, plus by February, a separate email inviting you to The Select 66, our exclusive online community (hosted on Mighty Networks).
It's completely up to you if you want to join The Select 66 community. If you're there just for the bike lottery - we understand!
There will be no refunds on tickets purchased, unless we sell less than 150. If that happens, you will be refunded in full.
Every penny and every cent we get from the lottery goes towards making the Route 66 Guinness World Record happen. Your money will get the team and our equipment to the start line in Santa Monica. It’ll help us house and feed our 8-person crew, fuel our race vehicles, and return us home!
We’ll open The 66 Select community on Feb 1st, 2025 and it will remain open until June 20th 2025, a week after Joe crosses the finish line. However, we’re sure some of the connections you make there, as well as your renewed love of cycling and Route 66, will last long after that.
Of course! The Diner’s Club welcomes smaller donations. Donors will still get access to our exclusive online community. However, you will not be eligible to win Joe’s bike and the other prizes in the lottery draw. Anyone who donates £50 will also get a limited edition Joe Barr Route 66 beanie.
We're sure there will be plenty going on every day, as members get to know each other, talk about their connections with this endeavour, whether it’s their experience with cycling or their love of adventure and Route 66.
But you can expect weekly updates (if not two!) and videos from Joe and the team. You'll also get monthly live chats where you’ll meet Joe and get to ask your burning questions about life as an ultra-athlete, and what it takes to prepare for something that’s never been done. There will be regular behind-the-scenes posts from the team featuring all the aspects of preparing for a venture like this.
You’ll also get live commentary during every day (and night) of the race, which won’t be available anywhere else.
